Literature Text

You were my Spring,
your beauty bloomed like colorful flowers.
You made me feel like a King,
a man of endless powers.

You were my Summer,
your light shined in my eyes.
Your warm nights gave me peaceful slumber,
you took me to a place where i would never cry.

You were my Fall,
I was the last leaf holding onto you.
The others danced in their airborne ball,
then your winds took me away to soar above the moon.

You were my Winter,
your graceful snowflakes would fall.
My skin would never blister,
with your protective icy wall.

This Spring heavens cry with mournful showers,
your binding vines thrashing me with wrath.
Now your sweetness has grown too sour,
I try to escape but rose bushes block my path.

This Summer my love was consumed by your fire,
your dryness drifts in and I nearly die.
Your heat forces me to draw back and retire,
I wish it were easy to just say goodbye.

This Autumn I was first to fall,
your raging winds tossing me everywhere.
Your ears refuse to hear my frightened call,
your hate for me I cannot bear.

Now its time for the ice cold Winter,
you curse me with frostbite every day.
Your wall is gone to protect me from this blizzard,
and just like the snow, my hope melts away...
One of my Faves.
